CAIRO – 25 May 2021: Egypt extended Tuesday condolences to the Democratic Republic of Congo over the death of at least 31 because of the eruption of Mount Nyiragongo on May 22.

Egypt expressed solidarity with the fellow African state where hundreds got displaced because of the natural disaster. Also, more than 150 children got separated from their families while 170 others are missing, as reported by CNN.

Egypt sent in April a military transport plane loaded with medical and humanitarian supplies to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Armed Forces General Command ordered the departure of the shipment to support the fellow African country in the face of COVID-19.
