CAIRO – 25 May 2021: Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdel Rahman met with his Egyptian counterpart on Tuesday amid growing ties that had been tense for almost a decade.

Sheikh Al Thani and Sameh Shoukry discussed enhancing relations after Qatar, Egypt, and Gulf Cooperation Council states signed al-Ula reconciliation agreement in January 2021.

They tackled huge investment opportunities in the two countries and means to push forward Arab cooperation considering Qatar’s presidency of the Arab League Council.

Simultanesouly, an Egyptian-Qatari committee tasked with monitoring the two countries’ commitment to al-Ula agreement discussed “pending issues” on Tuesday, agreeing to regular meetings until all issues are resolved.
