CPYP hails Egypt’s efforts to reach cease fire in Gaza, condemn aggression against civilians

CAIRO – 17 May 2021: The Coordination’s Committee of Party’s Youth Leaders and Politicians [CPYP] condemned, Monday all violence acts and aggression against Palestinian civilians.
 
In his speech in the Senate, CPYP Representatives Akmal Nagati called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards what he described as ‘brutal aggression against Palestinian citizens’
 
The statement praised the determined diplomatic efforts of the Egyptian state to reach a cease fire between all parties along with sending medical aid to Gaza strip and ordering opening Rafah border crossing.
 
Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry said Monday that Egypt has intensified its efforts and communications to reach a cease fire in Palestine and protect civilians from violence acts and aggressions.
 
He added in statements that agreeing on a cease fire is a solution that is in the interest of all parties and will enhance the stability of the region.
 
Shokry said that all what is witnessed in Gaza Strip currently is mainly ‘destruction’ and violence against civilians.
 
The Egyption FM warned Israel from trying to change the Arab-nature of Jerusalem. He called on the Israeli government not to take any escalating steps that increase the tension in the city.
 
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for putting an end to the ongoing conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis immediately.
 
He affirmed that Egypt is always exerting efforts in this regard, saying “Hope to end this conflict exists as long as all of us are working together.”
 
Shelling and airstrikes by the Israeli army against Gaza Strip and clashes with civilians in the West Bank and Jerusalem since May 10 incurred 220 deaths and 6,039 injuries, according to Palestinian health Ministry
 
The strikes also caused the destruction of more than 200 residential units and 31 educational establishments, including schools, colleges, and vocational training centers so as hundreds of families fled from the North to the South.
 
On the other hand, Magen David Agom announced that 10 Israelis got killed since the beginning of the "Fence Guardian" operation on Monday while 675 others got injured.
