CAIRO - 11 May 2020: Egypt has condemned the continuity of terrorist operations by Houthi militias against Saudi territories, the latest of which has been an attempt to target Saudi Arabia’s Abha international airport with an explosive drone.

In a statement released on Monday, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Egypt's support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the measures it takes to confront those sinful terrorist acts that pose a threat to the kingdom’s security and stability as well as to the safety of its people and the residents living there.

Such acts also constitute a flagrant and direct threat to security and stability in the region, the foreign ministry added.

The attack has caused some material damage after the Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi forces in Yemen intercepted and destroyed the drone.

Saudi Arabia’s allies in the region as well Arab and Islamic organizations have strongly condemned the Iranian-backed Houthi militia’s attempt to target the Abha International Airport.
