CAIRO – 6 May 2021: An Egyptian military airplane loaded with medical equipment and supplies arrived on Thursday in the Tunisian military base in Aouina, Mosaique FM reported.
 
The medical assistance, which was sent upon directives from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, aims at helping the Tunisian people to confront the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
The aid plane was received by by the Tunisian Minister of National Defense, the Director General of Military Health and Egypt's Ambassador to Tunisia. 
 
As of May 4, 2021, Tunisia has recorded a total of 315,600 Coronavirus cases, including 269,653 recovered and 11,122 deaths, since the outbreak of the virus last year.
 
Egypt has sent several military planes loaded with medical supplies to a number of African countries. Last week, a military plane loaded with large quantities of medicines and medical supplies was sent to Libya.
