CAIRO – 22 April 2021: Egypt online celebrated on Thursday the World Day of Earth, April 22, by presenting a number of messages to raise public awareness of the importance of saving the planet and reconciling with nature and its biological diversity.
 
In he a statement, Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad has called for serious action to save the Earth planet, particularly amid the current crisis of the coronavirus pandemic.
 
“Today’s celebrations are an international recognition of the societal responsibility toward protecting the environment,” she said.
 
She noted that eco-friendly simple activities can contribute to saving nature; such activities are like rationalizing energy and food consumption, planting plants and trees, cycling or walking.
 
The minister also called for reducing the consumption of single-use plastic bags in the daily life to avoid the harm it causes to human health and the environment.
