Egypt’s President, First Lady greet Arab people on holy month of Ramadan

CAIRO – 12 April 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar Amer greeted the Arab and Islamic nations on the holy month of Ramadan, which started this night.

Sisi in a tweet hailed Ramadan as the month of “obedience and forgiveness that is full of goodness and faith and in which hearts and human souls are renewed”.

“We pray to Almighty God to perpetuate goodness, security, stability and peace on all our Arab and Islamic nation,” Sisi added.

The first lady congratulated the Egyptian people as well as the Islamic and Arab nations on the occasion of “this month that we wait for from year to year”.

Amer said the awaited month of Ramadan “please the hearts and purify the souls”.

The president has also greeted Arab leaders on Ramadan through individual phone calls and received greetings from Arab leaders, including Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad.

The Arab leaders have included King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, Sudan's Sovereign Council chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed Bin Zayed, Tunisian President Kais Saied, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber.

Sisi also made phone calls tonight with Iraqi President Barham Salih, head of Libya’s Presidential Council Mohammed Menfi, Bahraini King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa and Algeria's President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
