CAIRO - 11 April 2020: Health Minister Hala Zayed embarked on a field tour on Sunday in several Upper Egypt governorates to inspect isolation and fever hospitals to stand on the medical services offered to coronavirus patients.

Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said the tour - which started in Luxor - falls within the framework of following up the implementation of the ministry's plan in confronting coronavirus.

Megahed said the tour was also meant to inspect the development of medical facilities in various governorates within the context of implementing the all-out health insurance mechanism.

Recently, Zayed urged citizens to adhere to the preventive measures against coronavirus during Ramadan, through maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks.

She urged citizens to avoid home visits and to hold gatherings at open air as much as possible.

Egypt has started its vaccination campaign in January, starting with the medical teams at quarantine hospitals, for being on top of priority groups in terms of vaccination.

It has also started vaccination people suffering from chronic diseases and the elderly.
