CAIRO - 10 April 2020: The Egyptian Cabinet's Media Center has denied in a Saturday statement that news circulated on Social media declaring that the country will be hit by poisonous air masses of carbon dioxide.

The Egyptian government said that it communicated with the Environment Ministry which refuted the news as groundless.

The ministry said that environmental monitoring stations are working around the clock to measure air quality and track any rise in levels of air pollutants.

The ministry added specialized teams did not monitor any pollutants or emissions, which directly affect health or establishments.

The ministry said no increase was detected in carbon dioxide levels in the air.

The ministry urged different mass media outlets to be accurate and objective in publishing news in order not to stir public discontent.
