CAIRO – 31 March 2021: Former Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri passed away Wednesday aged 88 at the Air Force Hospital in New Cairo.

 

Ganzouri was born on January 12, 1933 in Menoufeya governorate, and the key posts he held are governorate of New Valley, governorate of Beni Suef, and chairman of the National Planning Institute.

 

Later on, he became minister of planning, then, deputy prime minister. Ganzouri served as prime minister between January 1996 and October 1999, and between November 2011 and July 2012.

 

In July 2013, Ganzouri was appointed as counselor for economic affairs to Interim President at the time Adly Mansour, who served for one year.
