The relief organization added on X: “At least 300,000 people affected as further areas across [the] GazaStrip receive new evacuation orders today, both towards central Rafah in the south AND #Jabalia in north #Gaza.”
Louise Wooddridge, an official in the media department at UNRWA, who is currently in Gaza, denounced the evacuation orders issued by the Israeli occupation forces to the displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area in Rafah, Palestine.
The Israeli army called on residents east of Rafah Palestinian city in Gaza Strip to evacuate the area immediately and go to Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis, as it is considered a “safe” area.
UNRWA will not evacuate its sites in Gaza in case of an Israeli Rafah invasion, according to Cairo News.
The Commissioner-General of UNRWA said that reports indicate that at least two children died due to the heat wave in the Gaza Strip.
Minister Shokry stressed the necessity of eliminating the obstructions set by Israel to cripple the delivery of aid to Palestinians.
Also, a joint press conference between Shoukry and the UNRWA Under-Secretary-General will be held afterwards, the statement continued.
Egypt's permanent representative to the United Nations, added during his speech that they call on the Security Council to show solidarity with UNRWA.
The meeting tackled the situation in Gaza Strip and related tensions in the Middle East.
On his X (formerly Twitter), Head of the Euro-Med for Human Rights Monitor Ramy Abu said that the Israeli navy has targeted a humanitarian truck to UNRWA while it was heading from the southern strip to the north of Gaza.
Minister Shokry raised the matter of the decision made by a number of countries to suspend funding to the UNRWA in the middle of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, will receive on Wednesday Ambassador David Satterfield, the US Special Envoy for Humanitarian Affairs in the Middle East, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

His comments came one day after UNRWA announced the dismissal of several of its employees after the Israeli authorities provided the agency with information alleging their participation in the Hamas attack that occurred on October 7 in the israeli settlements. The UNRWA said that it launched investigations into these Israeli claims.
