CAIRO – 20 October 2017: Bleacher Report picked Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah among its 2018 World Cup best squad alongside 22 other players. Salah was chosen after leading Egypt to qualify to the 2018 World Cup.

“Egypt qualified via a last-gasp penalty from Mohamed Salah, a stroke of the ball that reduced the lead commentator on the game to tears. Anyone who can withstand that pressure and shoulder that responsibility is welcome in this squad,” Bleacher Report said.

Another Arabic name appeared in the list was Saudi Arabian forward Nawaf El Abed, who was chosen after his amazing performance during the qualifiers.

“The player to watch in their ranks is Al-Hilal forward Nawaf Al Abed, their chief source of spark and creativity in attack,” the article said.
