CAIRO - 30 April 2024: Egypt and Belarus have entered into an agreement aimed at strengthening their shared trading system. The agreement was signed by Shahat Ghatouri, the Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, and Alexey Bogdanov, the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus.
This agreement is a result of the continuous collaboration between the Egyptian Customs Authority and the State Customs Committee of Belarus.
The primary objective of this agreement is to promote the economic and customs interests of both countries while enhancing the efficiency of customs control over goods and vehicles moving between them.
To achieve this, the two parties have decided to implement a pilot project focused on exchanging information regarding the movement of goods and vehicles. This project will span a period of 12 months, commencing from the agreement's effective date.
The agreement also includes measures to facilitate customs procedures between Egypt and Belarus, such as the provision of separate lanes for vehicles. This initiative aims to reduce the time required for customs operations.
Notably, the signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and his Belarusian counterpart, further highlighting the significance of the agreement.
