CAIRO - 8 May 2024: Palestinian sources said that Israeli helicopters were firing east of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, amid rising columns of smoke in a number of areas in the northern Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombing.

The sources reported that two women were killed as a result of an Israeli bombing on Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and they were transferred to the European Hospital, in addition to a number of wounded in an Israeli drone bombing that targeted Palestinians west of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian medical sources confirmed that 35 martyrs and 129 injured were killed in Palestinian Rafah during the past 24 hours.

Doctors Without Borders warned against any military operation in the Palestinian Rafah, stressing that this step would obstruct access to some hospitals that are vulnerable to destruction, which would have catastrophic effects on more than a million people, and would exacerbate the damage to the health system.
